Last Tuesday, Feb. 2, the government press conference announced that daycare centers and preschools for children ages zero to four will be allowed to reopen fully as of Feb. 8 will be allowed to reopen fully.

The extracurriculars will remain closed, for now until March 1, 2021, to prevent additional cross-contamination between groups of children from different schools.

The bso does provide emergency care for children of parents working in a crucial profession and for children for whom customization is needed due to special issues or a difficult home situation. The list of crucial occupational groups

Adjusted guidelines from the government:

  • The child care protocol has been updated. This contains the strict measures for parents and staff during care. Parents can find the most recent version of this protocol in the Parent Portal, under my establishment and then policies.
  • If any of the children or staff in a group tests positive, the entire group will be quarantined.
  • We therefore keep the groups at daycare and from the schools separate whenever possible, including during outdoor play. At the bso, clusters are made of the schools.
  • Furthermore, we urge parents to wear a mouth mask during drop-off and pick-up times. Entering the premises is still not allowed without permission.

Opened bso locations during emergency shelters

Because the numbers of children in emergency shelters are increasing and the instructions from the government are to separate children from different schools whenever possible, it has been decided to open more out-of-school locations for emergency shelter in the coming period.
