In the May 6 press conference, the government announced that schools and child care will reopen (partially) starting May 11, 2020.

What does this mean for Child Care Homes?

  • Starting May 11, all of our daycare and preschool locations will reopen on regular days and times.
  • All of our pre- and  out-of-school care locations are reopening. However children can only come to care on days they also attend school, with a maximum of the number of days on contract. For the other days, the bso is legally still closed on government instructions.
  • Furthermore, we do not offer a transportation service to sports clubs for the time being because our drivers are in the risk group of the Corona virus and we need our pedagogical staff in the groups in abundance.
  • Parents have received from the location a protocol with guidelines on care at that location.

Emergency shelter from May 11

Also as of May 11, children of parents in crucial professions and vulnerable children in unsafe home situations can receive emergency shelter. This may be in addition to the number of contracted days or for parents who do not have a contract.

If you wish to take advantage of this, you must request it at klantcontact@kinderopvanghuizen.nl no later than two business days before the required day .

Please be advised that Liberation Day (Tuesday, May 5) and Ascension Day (Thursday, May 21) are national holidays and the emergency shelter will be closed then as well. On these two days, only 24/7 care is available. See below.

Evening, night, weekend or holiday care (24/7 care)

24/7 care will remain in effect for children of parents with crucial occupations and vulnerable children in unsafe home situations.

Compensation scheme own contribution parents

Until May 11, 2020, parents’ co-payment of child care costs is fully reimbursed, partly by the government (up to the maximum hourly rate of the Tax Office) and partly by the child care organization (part of the hourly rate above the maximum hourly rate of the Tax Office).

Starting May 11, 2020, parents will again pay the co-payment above the maximum hourly rate set by the Tax Office themselves.

You can read more about this on the central government website.
